SeqMatic Careers is hiring a Bioinformatics Research Associate to join our sequencing service team. In this role, you will apply your bioinformatics expertise to analyze next-generation sequencing data, enabling our research and service goals.
What You'll Do
- Perform quality control on NGS sequencing data.
- Conduct bioinformatic analysis of NGS data, with a focus on bulk RNA and scRNA.
- Execute custom bioinformatic analysis projects.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize analysis pipelines.
- Generate data QC and analysis reports.
- Organize and maintain experimental records and lab procedures.
- Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members.
What We're Looking For
- A B.S. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related science.
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python, R, Perl, Bash, Java, or Javascript.
- Experience working in a Unix/Linux command-line environment.
- Proficiency using MS Office software.
- The ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- The ability to work independently and with a team.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with next-generation sequencing, particularly Illumina or 10X Genomics libraries.
- Familiarity with common bioinformatics software tools such as Bowtie, GATK/Picard, STAR, SAMtools, Cell Ranger, or similar.
- Experience working with large-scale biological datasets using high-performance computing. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus.
