SeqMatic Careers is hiring a Bioinformatics Research Associate to join our sequencing service team. In this role, you will apply your bioinformatics expertise to analyze next-generation sequencing data, enabling our research and service goals.

What You'll Do

Perform quality control on NGS sequencing data.
Conduct bioinformatic analysis of NGS data, with a focus on bulk RNA and scRNA.
Execute custom bioinformatic analysis projects.
Develop, maintain, and optimize analysis pipelines.
Generate data QC and analysis reports.
Organize and maintain experimental records and lab procedures.
Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members.

What We're Looking For

A B.S. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related science.
Experience with a scripting language such as Python, R, Perl, Bash, Java, or Javascript.
Experience working in a Unix/Linux command-line environment.
Proficiency using MS Office software.
The ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
The ability to work independently and with a team.
Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Nice to Have

Experience working with next-generation sequencing, particularly Illumina or 10X Genomics libraries.
Familiarity with common bioinformatics software tools such as Bowtie, GATK/Picard, STAR, SAMtools, Cell Ranger, or similar.
Experience working with large-scale biological datasets using high-performance computing. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus.
