Lead the evolution of data-driven decision-making as a Principal Data Analyst in a role that bridges technical depth and business strategy. You'll own end-to-end analytics initiatives, from framing ambiguous problems to delivering actionable insights that influence executive direction and operational performance.
What You'll Do
- Drive high-visibility analytics projects, defining success metrics, designing robust analyses, and presenting clear recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
- Design and maintain trusted datasets and interactive dashboards in Power BI, applying best practices in data modeling, DAX, and semantic layer design
- Develop scalable data workflows using Databricks, leveraging SQL, Python, and Spark to process and analyze large, complex datasets
- Automate data pipelines and analytical processes using Python and Azure services, integrating with Data Factory, ADLS, and Synapse/Fabric
- Ensure analytical integrity through rigorous validation, reproducible methods, and version-controlled workflows using Git
- Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams to build secure, compliant pipelines—especially with sensitive health information
- Mentor analysts in statistical reasoning, data storytelling, and visualization techniques to strengthen team-wide capabilities
- Champion data literacy across departments, helping teams interpret KPIs and adopt self-service tools effectively
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and analytics platforms, recommending improvements to the technology stack
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
- 8–10+ years of experience in analytics, with a track record of leading complex projects and delivering measurable business impact
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and Databricks, with hands-on experience building production-grade analytics workflows
- Deep experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and deployment pipelines
- Familiarity with Azure data services (Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse) and cloud-based data architecture
- Proven ability to translate technical findings into clear, executive-level narratives
- Experience mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of analytical excellence
- Agile mindset with a focus on iteration, feedback, and product-oriented delivery
Preferred Background
- Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field
- Certifications in Databricks, Power BI, or Azure platforms
- Exposure to machine learning workflows or MLOps practices
- Knowledge of healthcare data models, including risk adjustment (HCC, CDPS) or claims grouping (e.g., Milliman HCG)
- Experience with AI-enhanced analytics features in Power BI or Fabric
- Training in product management or experience shipping analytics as a product
