Cohere is looking for a Research Scholar to join the Cohere Labs Scholars Program, an 8-month, full-time research apprenticeship. You will work on solving complex machine learning problems through fundamental research, with a goal to publish papers or open-source code.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the Cohere engineering team on machine learning and natural language processing research projects.
- Contribute to the advancement of meaningful scholarship in machine learning and natural language processing.
- Work on frontier AI problems, pushing your research skills to new levels.
What We're Looking For
- A strong engineering background demonstrated by contributions to open source, past work experience, or a portfolio.
- Passion for tackling open-ended problems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Grit and comfort with pushing through iteration and failure.

This role is remote-flexible. Cohere has offices in Toronto, New York, San Francisco, and London and provides a co-working stipend.
