UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is hiring a Research Project Coordinator WPIC to manage daily operations for a newly established Clinic and Research Center in Nutritional Ketosis. You will play a central role in coordinating research activities and ensuring the smooth functioning of this initiative.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day coordination of participants in the nutritional ketosis clinic and research center.
- Coordinate daily activities and special projects for the department.
- Schedule appointments and conduct assessments for research trials and clinic visits.
- Track protocol compliance and follow-up for all study participants.
- Collect data and provide general clinic and research assistance related to participant flow.
- Assist with workflow and supervision of two Research Specialists covering MRI and blood draw visits.
- Manage ongoing communication with trial and clinic participants.
- Ensure IRB protocol compliance and follow mandatory reporting procedures for any deviations or adverse events.
- Maintain accurate records of project spending and available funds.
- Assist with quality assurance over all aspects of data collection and management, including data flow, entry, verification, database maintenance, and security.
- Provide regular supervision for junior staff.
- Prepare and modify IRB protocols, Regulatory Binders, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the research, clinical, and administrative staff.
- Coordinate recruitment including advertisements, tracking, and developing strategies to increase response in targeted populations.
- Submit regular reports detailing research progress, including NIH progress reports.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, business administration, or a related field.
- Three years of relevant research and/or clinical experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience independently conducting interviews, evaluations, assessments, and cognitive tests with research participants.
- Experience in coordinating multiple aspects of human subject research projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and effectively communicate with participants, clinic patients, staff, investigators, and medical staff.
Team & Environment
You will join a lab comprised of psychiatry faculty, postdoctoral associates, students, and staff. The team is dedicated to better understanding the neural circuitry underlying mood, substance, and anxiety disorders using multimodal imaging techniques.
