About the Role

The University of Chicago is hiring a Research Assistant to provide technical and administrative support for scientific research projects focused on the neurocognitive aspects of substances of abuse and psychiatric disorders. You will assist with study coordination, data analysis, and drafting presentations on research findings.

What You'll Do

  • Perform a variety of analyses of neuroimaging data, including functional and structural MRI and high-density EEG.
  • Assist with study design, implementation, and data acquisition, including cognitive task programming and scoring.
  • Coordinate research participant study visits.
  • Provide data management and optimize processing pipelines.
  • Learn new analysis techniques or software packages as they become available.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to studies.
  • Provide training and support in these techniques for other staff and students.
  • Collect and enter data.
  • Assist in analysis of data and with preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
  • Comply with institution, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.

What We're Looking For

  • Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge and skills developed through less than 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of relevant research experience (experience gained in school counts).
  • Knowledge of research technique and methods in the relevant scientific field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $19.23 - $26.44 per hour.
  • Health, retirement, and paid time off benefits.

Work Mode

This position requires an onsite work mode.
