Washington University in St. Louis is looking for a Research Administration Intern to provide meaningful exposure to the operations of an internationally-ranked research university. This remote, time-limited internship combines intensive training bootcamps with project-based work alongside partner offices, culminating in assistance to secure a permanent role at the university.
What You'll Do
- Complete intensive training bootcamps for Pre- and Post-award processes and STAR Program asynchronous training modules.
- Work alongside partner offices across Central, Danforth, and Medical campuses on various projects.
- Assist a Principal Investigator with submission of a basic R01, search for funding opportunities, proofread proposals, develop resources for websites and training sessions, and perform data entry.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the regulatory and legal framework and compliance rules affecting sponsored research agreements.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base related to university and agency systems.
- Assist in the identification of research funding sources and agencies and interpretation of external agency guidelines.
- Assist research administrators in proposal preparation, assembly, submission, and budget development and review.
- Assist in entering, reviewing, and maintaining data in the Research Management System (RMS).
- Assist in pre-award submission proposal review for adherence to Federal regulations and agency requirements.
- Assist in the analysis and response to awards received from external funding agencies for required actions, terms, accuracy of dollars, active assurances, and account/fund set-up in the Workday system.
- Assist in the post-award review and preparation of agency documents for submission to funding agencies.
