Role Overview
As a Tax Manager, you will take ownership of complex tax preparation and review processes for both individual and business clients. Working remotely, you will lead engagements from start to finish, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic insight. Your responsibilities will include managing client relationships, supervising junior staff, and delivering high-quality tax planning and advisory services tailored to diverse financial situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and detailed review of individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S), ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations
- Lead tax planning strategies and compliance initiatives for clients, providing actionable recommendations based on current tax law
- Manage multiple client portfolios simultaneously, maintaining deadlines and delivering accurate, timely results
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior team members, delegating tasks and reviewing work for quality and completeness
- Conduct in-depth tax research to support complex filings and resolve IRS inquiries or notices
- Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, documentation, and internal processes to improve efficiency and service delivery
Qualifications
- Must hold an active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) status
- Proven experience with individual and corporate tax return preparation and review
- Strong technical knowledge of federal tax regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to lead projects remotely, manage teams, and maintain high standards under deadlines
