Hampton Healthcare is looking for a Remote Medical Billing Specialist with a strong foundation in ICD-10 coding and medical terminology. In this role, you'll join our team to ensure regulatory compliance and coding accuracy through meticulous quality review of clinical documentation.
What You'll Do
- Review and audit electronic medical records (EMRs) for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Verify correct application of functional status assessments (0–6 scale) and ICD-10 codes.
- Track and manage documentation timelines, ensuring all required forms are completed within 3–5 days depending on form type.
- Follow up with clinicians regarding missing, delayed, or incorrect documentation.
- Coordinate with physician offices to obtain missing or updated paperwork.
- Ensure documentation aligns with CMS standards, payer guidelines, and internal compliance protocols.
- Cross-check medication lists, diagnoses, and clinical notes for accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with internal documentation audits and contribute to maintaining accurate, complete patient records.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding and CMS Standards.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare billing platforms.
- Background in insurance billing or customer service in a healthcare setting.
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative remote environment.
- Willingness to work night shifts aligned with U.S. time zones.
