FusionTek was looking for a Remote Incident Response Tech Lead

FusionTek is seeking an Incident Response Technical Lead to provide high-touch technical management for critical incident response projects. You will lead recovery efforts from start to finish, serve as a key escalation point, and translate complex technical details for clients.

What You'll Do

  • Provide full-cycle technical management of incident response recovery efforts, including initial mobilization, assignment, and oversight of technical workstreams.
  • Participate in daily (or more frequent) update calls and produce associated reporting.
  • Document, track, and escalate project tasks and tickets through the ticketing system.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on the designated platform.
  • Serve as the escalation point for technical questions from engineers and clients.

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent comprehension and communication skills in English.
  • Proven experience leading a technical team.
  • Knowledge of Office 365, Azure cloud services, and Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in complex networking troubleshooting (VLANs, routing, subnetting, packet captures).
  • Broad understanding of operating system fundamentals and advanced OS troubleshooting (boot issues, profile corruption).
  • Comfort working across different operating systems, both CLI and GUI.
  • Advanced firewall configuration skills (creating and troubleshooting complex policies/routes).
  • Experience troubleshooting network ingress and egress issues.
  • Ability to work in diverse firewall UIs (SonicWall, Meraki, FortiGate, Cisco, WatchGuard, etc.).
  • Strong comprehension of system architecture and the elements of network/system performance.
  • Exceptional time management and superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated skillset validated by industry certifications or a plan to obtain them.

Nice to Have

  • SQL database knowledge.
  • Previous recovery or remediation experience.
  • Experience working in a ticketing system, with Autotask experience a plus.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: R800,000 to R950,000.
  • Quarterly bonus eligibility based on specific KPIs.
