Bank of New Zealand is hiring a Holter Tech Scanner to support MercyOne Iowa Heart Center. In this role, you will perform Holter Monitor testing and scanning, provide heart rhythm analysis, and act as a key liaison between clinical staff and monitor services, all while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
What You'll Do
- Maintain proficiency with all Holter monitor equipment and procedures.
- Screen patient medical records for appropriate diagnosis and procedure orders.
- Instruct and educate patients regarding ordered tests and prepare them for procedures.
- Perform Holter Monitor testing and scanning according to established protocols.
- Provide heart rhythm analysis of recorded electrocardiograms and make general interpretations of arrhythmias.
- Identify adverse arrhythmias and inform the nurse or physician.
- Document symptoms, record monitor strips, and route reports to the appropriate doctor.
- Transport, ambulate, and transfer patients as needed.
- Accurately and completely document in the EHR and billing system in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Act as a liaison between staff and monitor services.
- Maintain equipment and keep a clean, well-organized work environment.
- Stock and order supplies and coordinate monitor repairs and replacements.
- Demonstrate positive communication and cooperate to build an effective healthcare team.
- Act as a resource and help orient and develop new staff.
- Participate in QA activities and adhere to all Joint Commission, Iowa Department of Public Health, and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission guidelines.
- Complete department competencies within required timeframes.
- Attend required meetings and participate on committees as requested.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Operate required vehicles safely and travel to other MercyOne Iowa Heart Center offices or campuses as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Commitment to take the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) - Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) Exam within 18 months of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served within three (3) months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certification obtained by the end of the orientation period (approximately six (6) weeks).
- Valid Iowa Driver’s/Chauffeur's License, ability to meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice to Have
- EKG/Arrhythmia training or telemetry monitoring experience is preferred, but we will train on the job.
- Medical terminology knowledge.
