Bayshore Integrated Care Solutions NRIO is hiring a part-time Rehab Assistant to provide crucial supervision and rehabilitation support within our Supported Living Apartment program in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will help individuals with acquired brain injuries work toward goals like increasing independence and community reintegration as part of a specialized care team dedicated to a person-and family-centered care approach.
What You'll Do
- Work with individuals with acquired brain injuries to increase independence through individualized rehabilitation programs, supporting up to 5 clients at a time.
- Complete all required documentation following company and provincial guidelines.
- Follow designed rehabilitation programs with accuracy.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care, medication management, and transfers.
- Accompany clients on community outings using external transport services or your own vehicle.
- Utilize appropriate Crisis and Behavioural Management strategies.
- Collect required clinical data through precise documentation and tracking.
- Complete research to assist with enhancing client programs.
- Perform other assigned clinical and administrative duties.
- Provide flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, overnights, and occasional holidays.
What We're Looking For
- Post-secondary studies in social sciences or a healthcare-related area.
- A valid G driver’s license with a clean abstract, access to a vehicle, and proper insurance to transport clients.
- Availability to work weekends, days, evenings, occasional overnights, and some holidays.
- Willingness and ability to perform personal care, medication assistance, ADLs, administrative tasks, light cleaning, advocacy, and therapy implementation.
- Physical capability to perform bending, stretching, and lifting tasks.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, behavioural challenges, chronic pain, or addictions.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks within set timeframes.
- Proficiency with computers and secure email systems.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
