MyFlorida's Department of Management Services is seeking a Regulatory Consultant to deliver high-quality customer service for the International Registration Plan (IRP) and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) programs. This role is central to providing highway safety and security through excellence in service.
What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to carriers, tax collector offices, law enforcement, and other governmental authorities regarding IRP and IFTA services.
- Examine documents, make eligibility determinations, and issue credentials to IRP and IFTA applicants and registrants.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, mail, and face-to-face interaction.
- Handle confidential and exempt information properly to protect carrier and taxpayer privacy.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to review materials for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations correctly using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts or disagreements in a constructive manner.
- Ability to examine information logically, determine relevance of facts, and reach sound decisions.
- Knowledge of how to work effectively with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and direct them to services.
- Demonstrates understanding, courtesy, tact, empathy, and concern; relates well to people from varied backgrounds.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws related to motor vehicle registration and DHSMV operations, as well as IRP and IFTA policies and procedures.
- Ability to use standard office equipment: computer, printer, fax, multi-line phone, shredder, payment processor, copier, scanner, and calculator.
- Ability to speak clearly and relay information effectively and respectfully.
- Ability to foster cooperation and support coworkers in achieving bureau and Departmental performance goals.
- Knowledge of desktop applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, to perform duties, analyze information, and communicate.
- Ability to create correspondence with correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
