The University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide essential patient care within our health services. In this role, you will perform nursing tasks, assess and evaluate illnesses and injuries, administer medications, and provide referrals. Our services are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), upholding rigorous standards of quality and safety to promote a healthy environment for academic success.
What You'll Do
- Assist physicians and clinical staff in planning and implementing patient care.
- Observe, document, and communicate patient symptoms, potential problems, and pertinent information.
- Chart doctor orders, coordinate departmental services, and guide the student health referral process.
- Document treatments, office visits, and monthly statistics, entering records into an electronic database in a timely and accurate manner.
- Complete reports, requisitions, and informational materials as directed.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and create supply orders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting clinical environment.
- Ensure policy and procedural compliance with all health regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Proven experience performing patient care tasks, assessing illnesses and injuries, and administering medications.
- Strong observational, documentation, and communication skills for collaborating with clinical staff.
- Experience with patient charting, coordinating services, and managing referrals.
- Ability to accurately enter and manage records in an electronic database.
- Knowledge of health regulations and a commitment to procedural compliance.
- Ability to maintain medical supply inventory and a clean, safe clinical space.
