About the Role
The nurse will deliver direct patient care, monitor student health conditions, and implement care plans in alignment with state regulations and school policies. This position emphasizes health promotion, emergency response, and coordination with families and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor the health needs of students
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Respond to acute health incidents during school hours
- Collaborate with teachers and school personnel on student health plans
- Develop individualized care plans for students with chronic conditions
- Conduct health screenings and immunization follow-ups
- Educate staff on managing common student health issues
- Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student health status
- Coordinate referrals to healthcare providers when necessary
- Manage medical supplies and equipment inventory
- Participate in school-wide health and safety planning
- Support mental health initiatives within the school environment
- Implement infection control practices
- Assist in managing absenteeism due to health concerns
- Provide first aid and emergency care as needed
- Track and report communicable diseases
- Promote wellness through health education activities
- Work with community health partners to enhance student services
Compensation
Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience

Onsite, full-time during school year with potential summer responsibilities
