We're hunting for a Recruitment Manager to own the entire tutor hiring pipeline for Toolkit Tutors across New York City. You'll primarily work remotely, with occasional in-person appearances at recruitment events, tutor trainings, and partner-school meetings. Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating closely with our Program Manager, your mission will be to:
- Build and maintain a top-tier pipeline of K-12 tutors for Algebra I, ELA, Biology/Living Environment, Global History and US History, and other NYSED high school subjects.
- Source rockstar candidates through job boards, college career centers, professional networks, and targeted outreach.
- Screen resumés, conduct phone/Zoom interviews, and run structured teaching demos to assess instructional prowess and classroom readiness.
- Coordinate background checks, reference verifications, and DOE fingerprinting.
- Oversee the offer and onboarding process, ensuring every new hire is classroom-primed and logged in our HRIS/ATS (Workable, Salesforce).
- Track funnel metrics (time-to-fill, pass-through rates, tutor quality KPIs) and deliver weekly leadership dashboards.
- Partner with the Program Manager to forecast staffing needs and schedule tutors for active programs.
- Represent Toolkit Tutors at recruitment fairs and occasional evening/weekend events (≈ 5–6 times per year).
- Take full ownership of - and meticulously document - recruitment processes to enable rapid scaling while maintaining top-notch quality.
Requirements

- Proven track record of filling 25+ education or tutoring roles per quarter.
- Deep understanding of what transforms an in-person tutor into a classroom superhero (instructional techniques, classroom management, interpersonal skills).
- Comfortable evaluating demo lessons and providing razor-sharp instructional feedback; prior teaching/tutoring experience is a major bonus.
- Proficient with Workable (or similar ATS), Google Workspace, and basic HRIS tools; data-driven and spreadsheet-ninja status.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to passionately pitch our mission and culture to diverse candidates.
- Hyper-organized, self-driven, and capable of juggling multiple open roles under tight deadlines.
- Authorized to work in the United States and able to travel within NYC for occasional events (≈ 5%).
Benefits
- $80,000 base salary (exempt) plus individual and team performance bonuses.
- Silver-tier health plan (medical, dental, vision) with company contribution.

- Remote-first work environment with flexible hours.
- Paid time off: 15 vacation days + 10 Federal holidays + sick leave.
- 12-weeks paid parental leave
