The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, is hiring a Receiving Officer to manage our logistics and inventory operations. In this role, you will be the critical point of contact for all shipments, ensuring accuracy and security from the loading dock to final delivery.
What You'll Do
- Receive, unload, and process deliveries, verifying incoming freight against invoices and receiving reports.
- Stage merchandise by department, mark items appropriately, and deliver them to their designated areas.
- Verify and track received inventory, completing all required reports and logs.
- Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure count accuracy.
- Manage all incoming and outgoing department packages and mail, including shipping.
- Secure the receiving room and its contents, ensuring the safekeeping of packages.
- Follow all national, state, and local hazardous material shipping guidelines and regulations.
- Verify the quantity and condition of guest packages upon receipt and prior to delivery.
- Communicate directly with guests regarding their received packages.
- Maintain an accurate tracking system for all shipping and receiving transactions, including obtaining guest signatures.
- Report any loss or damage of packages to management immediately.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete required safety training.
- Follow all company policies regarding uniform, appearance, confidentiality, and asset protection.
- Address guest service needs professionally and positively.
- Communicate clearly using professional language and proper telephone etiquette.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
- Read and visually verify information presented in various formats.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, such as grasping and manipulating objects.
- Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, as well as over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
- Navigate stairs and service ramps, reaching overhead and below the knees with bending, twisting, and stooping.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
