TE Connectivity is looking for an R&D/Product Development Engineer to develop individual products and specific technical elements within our product development lifecycle. In this role, you will assist in engineering activities for medium-sized projects, contributing directly to the creation and refinement of our components and systems.
What You'll Do
- Assist and propose product solutions for low and medium complexity customer requirements.
- Create and modify CAD models and drawings to support senior engineers.
- Collaborate with simulation teams and interpret results to inform design decisions.
- Create and maintain detailed product specifications.
- Evaluate manufacturing quality, including first article inspection reports.
- Execute design change requests through engineering change management processes.
- Coordinate and resolve technical issues that arise during development.
- Implement design modifications based on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
- Assist in conducting design verification, product refinement, and validation planning.
- Analyze prototype samples and refine product designs and components.
What We're Looking For
- A B.E. / B. Tech degree with 5+ years of experience supporting development or product engineering.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems, specifically CREO Part modeling & Sheet Metal.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and product prints.
- Ability to interpret simulation results and translate them into product design changes.
- Working knowledge in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) for molding, stamping, and plating.
- Working knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T.
- Strong conceptual, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of product development processes, approaches, tools, and validation.
- Familiarity with prototyping methods and an understanding of linear and non-linear analysis.
- Knowledge of the product life cycle and the ability to perform design activities to produce deliverables.
- Basic knowledge of quality tools like 8D, Why-Why analysis, and Fishbone diagrams.
- Working knowledge of designing with plastics and sheet metal.
