ALDO Group is looking for a Senior Systems Design Engineer to lead the design of components and systems for the SMR-300 nuclear power plant. This role leads multi-disciplinary integration activities and makes high-risk technical decisions, significantly influencing program execution and design strategy.
What You'll Do
- Lead multi-disciplinary system integration activities across major plant systems.
- Make high-risk technical decisions, perform architecture trade studies, and align with licensing and program leadership.
- Establish technical approaches and ensure design coherence across organizational boundaries.
- Manage system integration activities, including requirements development, component specification development, and calculations.
- Frequently interface with other engineering disciplines and licensing groups.
What We're Looking For
- BS in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of post-graduation engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and resolving high-complexity technical issues.
- In-depth knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics fundamentals.
- Excellent technical writing, interpersonal, and effective communication skills.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Nice to Have
- Masters degree in Mechanical or other engineering discipline.
- Experience working with engineers and manufacturers to develop designs and drawings.
- Experience working in the nuclear energy field in a design capacity.
- Experience with Smart Plant, MathCad, AutoCAD, Pipe-Flo, Engineering Life-cycle Management (ELM), requirements management software (e.g. DOORS-NG), and HTRI software.
- Experience researching and developing requirements.
- EIT and/or PE certification.
