At Dana TM4, a dynamic and fast-growing company, we are looking for a Hydraulics Engineer to join our international team. In this role, you will be central to developing the design and launching the production of flow control and compact hydraulic systems. You will support both operations in troubleshooting and sales in developing optimal solutions for our customers.
What You'll Do
- Analyze customer specifications and input requirements.
- Estimate the engineering design and testing (ED&T) costs for projects.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and finalize unit designs, focusing on cost, manufacturability, and assembly.
- Oversee prototype preparation and define validation criteria for your projects.
- Evaluate final product performance, quality, and safety.
- Follow the resolution of field and internal claims using the 8D method.
- Ensure proper execution and management of documentation for production and customers.
- Identify problems and propose effective solutions.
- Support the operations department in resolving day-to-day engineering issues.
- Generate innovative ideas to meet market and OEM requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, identify risks, and help manage project opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- A university bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in hydraulic design and development, from concept through testing and validation to industrialization.
- Specific experience in electro-hydraulic and hydraulic cylinder design.
- A clear understanding of mechanical and hydraulic technical specifications with a design-to-cost approach.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D drawing and expertise in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- An MS Office user with knowledge of the 8D problem-solving process.
- Basics of project management and an understanding of electric/electronic technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a focus on quality, time, and cost.
- The ability to work within cross-functional and international teams, manage time and priorities effectively, and demonstrate innovation and creativity.
Nice to Have
- Skills in statistical data analysis.
- Knowledge of automotive product development processes.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis methods like Five Whys, Six Sigma, and Red X.
- Fluent English language skills.
