dormakaba USA is seeking a Quality Intern based in Indianapolis, IN. This role reports directly to the AVP Quality and will support quality management initiatives across our manufacturing operations, gaining practical experience in quality assurance and process improvement.
What You'll Do
- Assist in conducting product inspections, testing, and quality audits to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes by collecting data, identifying trends, and documenting non-conformances.
- Participate in quality improvement projects using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects.
- Help maintain and update quality documentation, including inspection reports, SOPs, work instructions, and metrics dashboards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues and implement preventive measures.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Completion of at least sophomore year with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Basic understanding of quality management principles, statistical process control, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with strong analytical and data analysis skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar standards.
- Knowledge of statistical tools and software (Minitab, JMP, or similar) for data analysis.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma concepts, or quality improvement methodologies (5S, 8D, FMEA).
- Experience with measurement equipment and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
- Previous internship or hands-on experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
