Fender seeks a Quality Engineer to uphold and enhance product quality standards across various manufacturing areas. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will define quality goals, conduct audits, and implement Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, contributing to Fender's legacy of producing iconic instruments with precision and excellence.
What You'll Do
- Help define and continuously revise the quality goals for your areas of responsibility.
- Track performance and report results to the management team and involved personnel.
- Ensure required actions to improve quality performance are taken and sustained.
- Coordinate process audits in your areas of responsibility.
- Document audit results and follow up on closure of non-conformances.
- Work with marketing and R&D to revise or define quality criteria for products.
- Ensure proper use of the Quality module in SAP.
- Execute projects to improve yield using the DMAIC methodology.
- Lead, coach, and participate in A3 Problem Solving projects.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering (or related field), or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of four (4) years of manufacturing experience with background in woodworking, industrial painting, or electronics.
- At least three (3) years of experience working within Quality.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish to ensure understanding on the shop floor and within management.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Measuring skills and experience utilizing inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, digital multi-meters, soldering, and electronic test equipment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the use of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies is highly desirable.
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- A Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
