Bridgestone EMEA is hiring a Quality Engineer to establish and maintain an effective overall Quality Management System (QMS) for our Brits Manufacturing plant and related sales and warehousing sites. You will ensure the quality system meets ISO TS, OEM, and internal Bridgestone standards.
What You'll Do
- Establish, implement, and maintain an effective Quality Management System.
- Compile and maintain documented Quality System documentation in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO TS/16949, and OEM requirements.
- Ensure Bridgestone standards (TCE & BSJ) are implemented and manage centralized document control systems.
- Coordinate effective Quality Management Plans (QMPs), linking FMEA, PM, and control plans, including OEM requirements.
- Manage compliance with Bridgestone critical record retention and Metro file systems.
- Monitor, download, file, and communicate changes from International Automotive Oversight Bureau, ISO, and OEM websites.
- Plan, schedule, and ensure Process, Product, and System audits are conducted per ISO, TS, Bridgestone, and OEM requirements.
- Act as QS department spokesperson during external audits and ensure the system complies with DQS and OEM Audit standards.
- Assist with Vendor audits and conduct them in the Laboratory Manager's absence.
- Tutor new QS auditors prior to Bridgestone qualification and manage the Auditor qualification matrix.
- Identify QS training needs, compile training material, and provide training, including QS Induction.
- Promote Quality Awareness and Customer requirements throughout the organization and serve on the training committee.
- Compile OEM PPAP documents for all new customer products and sizes.
- Maintain OEM system requirements on individual websites, monitoring ppm's, re-qualification audits, bulletins, and reports.
- Liaise with managers regarding internal quality audit recommendations and corrective actions.
Work Mode
This is an onsite role primarily based at the Brits Manufacturing plant, with involvement at related sites in Isando and Durban.
