Responsibilities
- Create or adjust work schedules and procedures, and assign workload to meet deadlines.
- Ensure inspection procedures are followed to verify conformance to specifications.
- Generate inspection instructions from drawings, interpret specifications and job orders for workers, and assign duties.
- Maintain quality control records, certifications, calibration logs, and material review records.
- Issue reports with interpretations and recommendations.
- Act as a liaison for quality control with supplier quality engineers, suppliers, and customers to ensure control of quality for incoming and outgoing items.
- Train employees to perform their job functions efficiently and effectively.
- Recommend measures to improve inspection methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase department efficiency.
- Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Ensure proper level gauging by estimating quantities needed, requisitioning, or repairing.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Supervise quality and calibration technicians as assigned.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in mechanical inspection using open set-ups.
- Two to four years of experience in quality control.
Nice to Have
- AAS degree or equivalent experience.
