About the Role

Graham Packaging Company is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician to uphold and maintain quality standards for bottles as defined by technical drawings and specifications. This 12-hour night shift position (6:45 pm - 7:00 am) operates on a 2/2/4 rotating schedule in our Mason, OH plant.

What You'll Do

  • Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies.
  • Communicate quality information across shifts and departments verbally and in writing.
  • Setup and maintain product files in the Infinity QS data collection system.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data, control charts, and product specifications.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and related activities.
  • Create, implement, and maintain inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Complete required written documentation and forms.
  • Coordinate and manage the held ware and rework processes.
  • Coordinate quality activity with other departments to meet plant objectives.
  • Coordinate quality control training for inspection and testing personnel.
  • Play an active role on organizational teams.
  • Assist in customer complaints investigation and corrective action processes.
  • Assure Operators and PMT Leads follow procedures for tests and inspections.
  • Change over challenge test samples during product changeovers.
  • Assist all plant personnel with support of Infinity and quality reporting systems.
  • Conduct and participate in gage R&R studies.
  • Conduct process audits and finished goods audits for every machine.
  • Complete product qualifications and First Articles tests as required.
  • Analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and evaluate trends.
  • Retest bottle measurements from production to verify conformance to standards.
  • Perform multiple inspection tests to ensure parts meet or exceed specifications.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product according to procedures.
  • Audit rejected materials and customer returns, reporting findings.
  • Monitor challenge test samples and QA supplies, requesting replacements as needed.
  • Cover for vacation as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of all caps and notify the QA Manager when low.
  • Maintain work area and test samples in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Essential computer usage and typing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and carry assignments to completion.
  • Effectively conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborates well with others and proactively contributes to group objectives.

Nice to Have

  • Minimum of 6 months of quality experience.

Team & Environment
