Kraken is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our Consumer team. This team builds the applications that bring Kraken’s products to the mass market, aiming to onboard the next 100 million people to crypto. In this role, you will focus on developing features and maintaining our 'Consumer' applications, which offer the simplest way for customers to interact with Kraken.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and mobile developers to establish and refine testing processes for iOS and Android applications
- Design and implement mobile UI automation tests that are resilient to UI changes, reliable, and capable of delivering precise and actionable feedback
- Lead mobile test automation projects from planning to execution, ensuring seamless integration with the CI/CD pipeline
- Proactively document and report bugs, and work with development and product teams to resolve issues before release to users
- Advocate for best practices in mobile test strategy, including device coverage, performance profiling, and accessibility checks
What We're Looking For
- Proficient in a test automation language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Kotlin with mobile automation libraries
- Hands-on experience with mobile testing frameworks/tools such as Maestro, Appium, Detox, Espresso, or XCTest
- Proven experience building and maintaining UI automation test suites for mobile apps, with understanding of platform-specific nuances
- Experienced in mobile app deployment with a strong understanding of iOS & Android release processes, including App Store Connect, Google Play Console, platform review guidelines, release trains, OTA updates, and overall mobile release cycles
- Familiarity with Agile development cycles and continuous testing practices for mobile environments
- Comfortable with QA processes including bug tracking, documentation, and manual exploratory testing of mobile apps
- Experience testing across a diverse set of devices, screen sizes, and operating systems
- A creative, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for breaking things on mobile to make them better

- Be passionate about secure, reliable, fast and privacy-focused software
- A strong practicing interest in the cryptocurrency space or personal/professional experience investing and trading securities through online platforms
- QA experience with fintech/crypto products
