Iris Software is hiring a QA Playwright - Senior Engineer who is passionate about delivering smooth and reliable customer experiences across mobile and web platforms. In this hands-on role, you will build and maintain automation test coverage to support our fast-paced product development cycles.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain test automation using Playwright for Web App and for iOS and Android apps using Appium, XCUITest, or similar tools.
- Write test scripts using Typescript, JavaScript, Java, or Python to validate key customer-facing flows and mobile app performance.
- Run and analyze test results as part of continuous integration workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Jenkins).
- Track and validate bugs, performance issues, and edge case behavior in coordination with dev and support teams.
- Contribute to regression testing and smoke tests before mobile releases.
- Create and manage test data, automate repetitive validation steps, and improve test reliability over time.
- Collaborate with customer support and product teams to reproduce real-world issues reported by users.
- Document test scenarios, results, and known issues clearly for internal reference.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in automating mobile applications.
- Proficiency in testing customer-facing Web Application and mobile apps for both iOS and Android.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools like Playwright, Appium, XCUITest, Espresso.
- Familiarity with REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, agile environment with shifting priorities and short release cycles.
- Exposure to cloud-based test platforms like AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, or Firebase Test Lab.
- Working knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) for data validation.
- Ability to think from the end user’s perspective and ensure usability and functionality in production scenarios.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can clearly describe issues and steps to reproduce them.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with early-stage or growth-stage startups is a plus.
- Located in or able to work within U.S. Eastern time zone hours.
