The Senior QA Playwright Engineer will develop and manage test automation for web and mobile applications, focusing on delivering high-quality customer experiences through robust testing practices in fast-paced agile environments using tools like Playwright, Appium, and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated tests for web applications using Playwright, and for iOS and Android apps using Appium, XCUITest, or comparable frameworks.
- Write test scripts in TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Python to verify critical user flows and mobile application performance.
- Execute and evaluate test outcomes as part of continuous integration processes using platforms such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Jenkins.
- Identify, track, and validate bugs, performance bottlenecks, and edge case behaviors in collaboration with development and support teams.
- Support regression testing and smoke testing activities ahead of mobile application releases.
- Generate and manage test data, automate repetitive validation tasks, and continuously enhance test stability and accuracy.
- Work with customer support and product teams to replicate real-world issues reported by end users.
- Maintain clear documentation of test cases, results, and known defects for internal use.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, including at least 2 years focused on mobile application automation.
- Proven experience testing customer-facing web applications and mobile apps on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with test automation tools such as Playwright, Appium, XCUITest, and Espresso.
- Experience performing REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and short release cycles in agile environments.
- Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms including AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, or Firebase Test Lab.
- Working knowledge of databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL for validating application data.
- User-centric mindset with a focus on ensuring functionality and usability in production environments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly document and explain issues and reproduction steps.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Prior experience working in early-stage or growth-stage startup environments is beneficial.
