The Mobile Automation Tester will create and manage automation frameworks for mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms using Appium. This full-time, onsite role in Bengaluru involves test planning, framework development, CI/CD pipeline integration, defect tracking, and collaboration with development teams to ensure high-quality mobile releases.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate product requirements to determine the scope, strategy, and architectural design of mobile automation frameworks.
- Develop and manage test cases, automated test scenarios, and traceability matrices.
- Ensure testing coverage across functional, regression, integration, and device compatibility areas.
- Build and implement mobile automation frameworks using Appium.
- Automate test execution for both Android and iOS mobile applications.
- Write and maintain automation scripts using Java, JavaScript, or Python depending on the framework.
- Run automated test suites across various devices and operating system versions.
- Integrate automated tests into continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Continuously improve the automation framework for better stability, scalability, and performance.
- Conduct functional, regression, and usability testing on mobile applications.
- Verify API integrations within mobile applications.
- Perform cross-platform and device compatibility testing.
- Support performance validation and monitoring activities as needed.
- Record, track, and manage defects using JIRA or equivalent tools.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve mobile-related defects.
- Maintain detailed automation execution reports and monitoring dashboards.
- Provide regular insights into automation coverage and test result stability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- 4 to 7 years of professional experience in mobile application testing and test automation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with the Appium automation framework.
- Proven experience testing Android and/or iOS mobile applications.
- Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of API testing and backend validation techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in debugging automation and mobile application issues.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to continuous process improvement in automation coverage and efficiency.
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively.
- Work involves sedentary tasks with prolonged sitting and occasional movement within the office for meetings.
- Capability to perform repetitive computer-based tasks using a keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
Nice to Have
- ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer certification is preferred.
