APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is hiring a Purchasing Agent to support our operations. This role is central to ensuring the accurate and timely procurement of supplies and services needed across the company, maintaining seamless production and vendor relationships.
What You'll Do
- Ensure the accurate and timely purchasing of all items or services to meet company requirements
- Create purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner
- Order supplies for individual departments and maintain purchase requirements
- Review orders to ensure vendor compliance and recommend vendor changes
- Place orders and expedite as needed to ensure timely delivery
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and other criteria
- Develop and optimize vendor relationships
- Review invoice discrepancies and request credits or adjustments from suppliers
- Ensure all purchase requests follow authorized approval levels
- Identify the most cost-effective freight movement
- Communicate directly with manufacturing personnel to minimize production disruption
- Coordinate and process all Return-To-Vendor requests
- Handle administrative duties such as filing and copying
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Assist with any other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 2+ years of work experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills
