About the Role
This role involves providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients through virtual platforms. The practitioner will develop individualized care plans, prescribe medications when necessary, and coordinate with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments via telehealth
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions using clinical guidelines
- Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Monitor patient progress and response to therapy
- Document clinical encounters in electronic health records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to patient messages within established timeframes
- Coordinate care transitions when necessary
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Support crisis intervention protocols
- Adhere to prescribing best practices
- Conduct follow-up visits to assess treatment efficacy
- Utilize validated assessment tools in clinical decision-making
- Communicate with referring providers as needed
- Promote patient engagement in treatment goals
Nice to Have
- Experience in outpatient mental health settings
- Additional certification in addiction psychiatry
- Bilingual capabilities
- Prior work in integrated care models
- Leadership experience in clinical programs
- Teaching or precepting experience
