About the Role

BME Strategies is hiring a Proposal Writer to play a key role in securing state and local contracts. You'll craft clear, compelling, and responsive proposals that reflect our mission-driven focus on advancing health equity and public health systems. In this fast-moving, collaborative role, you will partner with technical leads, subcontractors, and the broader BD team.

What You'll Do

  • Write, edit, and tailor content for proposals and grant applications across public health domains.
  • Translate technical input from subject matter experts into clear, persuasive narrative responses.
  • Draft and refine key proposal sections including technical approaches, capability statements, past performance, staffing, and work plans.
  • Maintain and update content libraries and boilerplate materials.
  • Ensure proposals meet all formatting, compliance, and submission requirements.
  • Collaborate with Proposal Managers and Practice Leads to develop timelines and deliverables.
  • Contribute to knowledge management and proposal archives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize target markets and agencies for strategic expansion.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of professional writing experience.
  • Strong storytelling and editing skills with ability to synthesize information into persuasive narratives.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Google Workspace, and content collaboration tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience preferably in consulting, public health, nonprofit, or government settings.
  • Experience writing state or municipal proposals, RFPs, or RFQs is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with public health concepts and equity-centered language is preferred.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Business Development (BD) team, partnering closely with technical leads, subcontractors, and the broader BD team.
