About the Role

CannonDesign is looking for a Project Technology IV to be a key member of our Technology Solutions group. In this role, you will be responsible for leading client relationships, managing significant projects, contributing to business development, and mentoring team members.

What You'll Do

  • Design structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, electronic security systems, nurse call, distributed antenna systems, outside plant, data networking, LAN/WAN, voice and data architecture, and data centers.
  • Establish and communicate assignments, overseeing team progress and coordinating activities to meet project goals.
  • Work with A/E design teams to identify technology scope and implement designs across multiple markets.
  • Coordinate project requirements and schedules with other disciplines, preparing necessary contract documents.
  • Manage multiple and/or large projects from concept through construction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meet with clients to understand needs, develop engineering concepts, and make recommendations.
  • Visit job sites to assess conflicts and recommend resolutions.
  • Oversee staff development needs, provide mentorship, and deliver constructive feedback to project teams.
  • Review proposal drafts, establish timelines, and clarify content for business development.
  • Build and maintain professional client relationships, adapting to their evolving needs.
  • Network externally to build relationships and negotiate new assignments on major projects.
  • Travel coast to coast to meet project and client requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of directly related experience.
  • Must have knowledge of designing structured cabling, audio/visual, electronic security, nurse call, distributed antenna, outside plant, data networking, LAN/WAN, and data center systems.
  • Understanding of applicable design codes including NFPA, FGI, NEC, BICSI, and EIA/TIA.
  • Ability to understand IT system integration with overall building design, blending technical solutions with business practices.
  • Must be a critical thinker, highly analytical, and able to work independently with a high degree of latitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects and engage successfully with clients.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
