The Project Manager will lead datacenter expansion projects in Alberta, Canada for Bitdeer Technologies Group, overseeing the full project lifecycle from planning and budgeting to execution. This role involves managing government approvals, contractor relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to safety and quality standards. The position reports to the General Manager of North America Datacenter Business and requires coordination with global teams.
What You'll Do
- Lead project planning, defining scope, developing detailed schedules, and establishing budgets in collaboration with clients, engineers, and leadership.
- Manage the full contractor lifecycle, including selection, contract negotiation, and supervision to ensure work adheres to quality standards and specifications.
- Proactively manage project risks, including budget deviations, schedule delays, and on-site emergencies, ensuring all safety standards and codes are met.
- Serve as the primary point of communication, providing regular project updates and budget reports to internal teams and executive leadership.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal cross-functional teams, contractors, and other external partners.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering
- Experience leading large scale construction projects, including focus on Government relationships and approvals
- Thorough understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and architectural/engineering drawings
- Familiar with medium and low voltage power supply system and distribution system or experience in electricity infrastructure construction industry
- Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
- Ability to work beyond the regular work-day schedule, when necessary, to help coordinate activities and share information with the overseas team.
- Detailed oriented, time management, and sense of priorities.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of job site in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Ability to be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the job site.

The role is hybrid, based in Alberta, Canada, with flexibility to work remotely when necessary.
