Veitusa is hiring a Traveling Project Engineer/QC to manage field logistics and ensure mission-critical projects comply with all engineering standards, codes, and specifications. You will work with Project Managers and Superintendents to provide direction, oversee operations, and generate reports while traveling to project sites.
What You'll Do
- Manage plan grid and heavy job for project work accuracy, monitoring project costs to stay within budget.
- Prepare, review, and approve supplier purchase orders.
- Understand contract documents to validate inclusions/exclusions for invoice payment.
- Validate, reconcile, and maintain accurate quantities for billing and communicate differences to project management.
- Identify out-of-scope work for change orders.
- Produce drafts and manage project submittal/RFI logs.
- Schedule and facilitate Gopher 1 tickets.
- Schedule and lead private utility meetings, documenting conversations for office personnel.
- Prepare change orders and manage trucking logs and invoice approval.
- Perform on-site safety observations.
- Identify, complete, and apply for local permits.
- Attend meetings with clients, owners, and project teams.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, landowners, and suppliers.
- Develop and oversee job site-specific requirements for safety, cleanliness, and delivery schedules.
- Organize and ensure proper documentation and drawing distribution to staff and field personnel.
- Assist in producing project deliverables such as Safety and QA/QC plans and test procedures.
- Assist in drafting subcontractor/P.O. agreements and ensure finalization before work begins.
- Plan and coordinate engineering deliverables from various parties.
- Perform assigned tasks independently with instructions on expected general results.
- Track productions to create project activity profiles.
- Proactively work with Project Management, Field Supervisory, and Client teams to identify and analyze potential project schedule risks.
- Assist with job site duties to keep facilities functioning correctly.
- Assist with Estimating duties, including take-offs, solicitations, and bid preparation/running.
- Participate in business development events.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

- Availability for 8 to 10-hour workdays, Monday–Friday.
- A travel requirement of 80% to mission-critical job sites.
Nice to Have
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of estimating and managing projects in related scope of work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience using construction software.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret project plans and specifications.

Work Mode
This is an onsite position requiring 80% travel to various mission-critical job sites.
