Lead the engineering and execution of control and protection systems for high-voltage substations, ensuring robust performance across global projects. You will collaborate directly with customers to define protection and control strategies, shaping solutions that align with technical specifications and grid requirements.
What You'll Do
- Design and validate protection and control architectures for transmission and sub-transmission networks
- Oversee the hardware layout of bay-level cubicles within substations, ensuring compliance and reliability
- Configure intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) according to project-specific needs using industry standards
- Conduct factory testing in Vaasa and lead Factory Acceptance Tests with customer participation
- Manage on-site commissioning and testing for control and protection systems at customer locations
- Supervise a small team of engineers located across international engineering hubs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or systems engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven background in substation automation, particularly in control and protection systems and protocols such as IEC61850
- Fluency in both Finnish and English, spoken and written
- Strong collaboration skills with a focus on safety, quality, and customer needs
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining alignment with project stakeholders
- Structured problem-solving mindset with commitment to project timelines and budgets
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hitachi Energy’s Relion protection relays and PCM600 configuration tools
- Familiarity with E3.Series software for electrical design
