About the Role

The Oregon Health Authority is hiring a Project Coordinator (Project Manager 1) for a limited-duration, 100% remote position. You will support one or more projects within the Project Solutions team, coordinating multiple projects or parts of large projects depending on scope and complexity. Your role will involve frequent contact with stakeholders and internal staff to provide project progress, monitor work, resolve issues, gain commitment, and collaborate to achieve project objectives, all in service of our mission to deliver technology solutions that help Oregonians achieve health, well-being, and independence.

What You'll Do

  • Support one or more projects within the Project Solutions team.
  • Coordinate multiple projects or parts of large projects depending on scope and complexity.
  • Have frequent contact with stakeholders and internal staff to provide project progress, monitor work, resolve issues, gain commitment, and collaborate to achieve project objectives.
  • Work closely with the project manager responsible for projects assigned and in collaboration with project staff.
  • Coordinate project activities through the various lifecycle phases: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing.
  • Contribute and make updates to foundational project artifacts (e.g., project charters, schedules, plans, issues and risk logs, status reports).
  • Handle all or portions of Federal and State compliance reporting (e.g., Advance Planning Documents, Project Closure, State CIO, Legislative and other Federal partner reporting).
  • Facilitate meetings and conversations with ability to articulate expected outcomes.
  • Lead meetings to gather input and/or explain goals, processes plans and status.
  • Review project deliverables.
  • Verify project artifacts are completed according to schedule.
  • Report project status to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholders in a complex environment with interdependent decisions.
  • Monitor project organization, completion status, and review large volumes of work assignments and documentation.

What We're Looking For

  • Three years of progressively responsible paraprofessional or technical experience related to the series concept.
  • OR an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification AND two years of progressively responsible experience related to the series.
  • OR a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • OR a Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.

Nice to Have

  • Hands on progressively responsible experience managing technology projects, following industry standards, particular PMI (PMBOK).
  • At least 1-year hands on experience using Microsoft Project Schedule to create and manage fully loaded project schedules outlining project work efforts.
  • Demonstrated skill coordinating project activities through the various lifecycle phases.
  • Skill and experience in project management practices as evidenced by the ability to contribute and make updates to foundational project artifacts.
  • Experience with all or portions of Federal and State compliance reporting.
  • Ability and skills with demonstrated proficiency to facilitate meetings and conversations with ability to articulate expected outcomes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, Power Point and Project.
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency leading meetings to gather input and/or explain goals, processes plans and status.
  • Experience reviewing project deliverables.
  • Experience verifying project artifacts are completed according to schedule.
  • Experience reporting project status to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Experience with stakeholder management in a complex environment with interdependent decisions.
  • Experience with project organization, monitoring completion status, and reviewing large volumes of work assignments and documentation.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Project Solutions team within the Office of Information Services. You will work closely with a project manager and in collaboration with project staff.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Monthly salary: $5,325 - $8,148 (non-PERS qualifying range). If PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.

Work Mode

This position is 100% remote. The role is based in Salem, Oregon, but all work can be performed remotely.
