Parsons Transportation Group is hiring a Project Controls Engineer to work closely with a project team assisting with the management of multiple contracts. You will be responsible for cost engineering, planning and scheduling, and earned value management to support project success.
What You'll Do
- Manage multiple contract databases and track detailed project costs.
- Assist with forecasting, project billing, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate with clients, other client-side consultants, and internal staff to complete routine and isolated tasks.
- Carry out annual cost savings analysis, change orders, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with the development and management of cost control systems to provide accurate financial information.
- Facilitate the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments as needed.
- Perform independent analysis of data stored in project management and cost control systems.
- Create presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
- Implement and maintain Project Planning and Scheduling.
- Develop and maintain less complex critical path logic networks and bar charts.
- Analyze, evaluate, and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule.
- Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
- Report schedule status to all levels of project and Company management as well as to the Client.
- Implement and maintain an Earned Value Management System on the project.
- Analyze cost and schedule performance indicators (CPI and SPI).
- Prepare and maintain project forecasts and status updates.
- Provide assessment with corrective action recommendations to management.
- Fulfill project manager requests for changes on new and existing sites.
- May provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to others in the resolution of project control problems.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Typically 3+ years of related work experience.
- Proficient project controls skills.
- Working knowledge of various Project Controls software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Able to work independently.
- Basic financial acumen.
- Problem solving.
- Willingness to work with a diverse team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of Power BI.
