This role supports the delivery of community development initiatives in Kyerwa, Tanzania, working under the guidance of the Project Officer within the Implementation team. You will play a key role in ensuring field activities align with approved project frameworks and contribute to long-term poverty reduction goals.
What You'll Do
- Carry out at least four field visits weekly to monitor progress, verify implementation quality, and provide on-the-ground support.
- Ensure work plans from government partners and community monitors follow established project designs and timelines.
- Review field reports, action plans, and implementation schedules for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Coach and mentor local officials, extension workers, and field monitors to strengthen their capacity in program delivery.
- Identify risks to project execution and recommend practical solutions to maintain momentum.
- Support the coordination and follow-up of training sessions, coaching cycles, and technical refresher activities aligned with program objectives.
- Act as the primary contact for resolving operational challenges in government-led implementation clusters.
- Contribute data and insights for weekly, monthly, and donor reporting requirements.
- Facilitate regular cluster review meetings to assess performance and guide improvement.
- Assist in administrative tasks related to project management and ensure compliance with organizational policies and safeguarding protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of experience in community-based programming or project coordination.
- Proven track record working directly with village-level stakeholders and government officials.
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-moving, rural environments.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and accountability.
- Willingness to travel frequently—up to 80% of time—in remote and high-terrain areas.
- Capacity to ride a motorbike in rural settings is required.
- High personal integrity, reliability, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with local languages such as Kinyambo or Kihaya is an asset.
Work Environment
