About the Role

LIVIN farms is looking for a Program Coordinator to contribute creativity, project coordination, and educational expertise to grow the education and innovation capacity of our Division of Continuing Professional Development's Rural Program. This position supports rural physicians and health professionals across BC with education and learning opportunities. It is a 1-year leave replacement with the possibility for extension.

What You'll Do

  • Implement and coordinate courses, programs, and workshops for practicing physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, course directors, and management to develop sustainable closer-to-home programming.
  • Assess perceived and unperceived learning needs for BC physicians.
  • Develop and write program marketing and learning materials, collaborating with Digital Marketing and Creative Learning teams as needed.
  • Develop evaluation strategies and plans, and implement evaluation activities.
  • Build networks and maintain close working relationships with key project partners (e.g., BC Health Authorities, CME Coordinators).
  • Develop, refine, and maintain project budgets with input from the Project Manager.
  • Supervise and delegate duties and tasks where appropriate.
  • Produce quarterly and annual reports as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, project management, time management and organizational skills.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as e-mail and Internet.
  • Ability to prioritize work, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise tact, discretion, show initiative and good judgment.
  • Ability to travel, work some evenings, weekends and/or occasional early mornings as required for program delivery.

Nice to Have

  • University degree in adult education, social sciences, or another area that directly relates to the provision of continuing professional development for physicians in BC.
  • Experience in educational implementation, training, evaluation, and grant/proposal writing.
  • Experience in the CPD domain with sensitivity to the context of health care delivery and knowledge of the BC medical system contextualized to practice.
  • Experience in an administrative role with demonstrated experience in a cost recovery environment.
  • Working knowledge of both traditional and online methods of course delivery.
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS), particularly Moodle.
  • Database experience; data analysis software (SPSS or equivalent) experience.
  • Experience with the requirements and procedures of educational research, including experience with a variety of research traditions and methodologies.
  • Experience working with the medical community.
  • Knowledge of remote technologies used to deliver education.
  • Effective supervisory skills and ability to motivate employees and colleagues.

Team & Environment

Reports to the UBC CPD Education or Program Manager, Rural Programs. Works collaboratively with leadership and other staff at UBC CPD and a variety of community, provincial, national, and international partners.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $4,970.92 - $7,141.92 CAD Monthly
