Flowers Foods is hiring a Production Operator III to be a key contributor within our team-oriented production process. You will operate automated equipment, perform primary diagnosis of machinery failures, and aid in preventative maintenance, all while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Mastery of Enterprise software for data input and reporting is central to this role.
What You'll Do
- Check and adhere to the production work schedule for job assignments and reporting times.
- Operate automated production equipment according to established standards and safety procedures.
- Perform primary diagnosis of machinery failures.
- Aid in preventative maintenance and sanitation of all related equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of your work area at all times while on duty.
- May be assigned to operate facility metal detector(s) after full training and certification.
- Ensure a continuous, efficient flow of materials through assigned equipment.
- Verify product quality meets required standards throughout operation.
- Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance, measurements, and production speeds.
- Remove defective product and ensure only compliant product moves forward.
- Complete required documentation and system entries accurately and on time.
- Comply with work rules, safety rules, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalency plus successful completion of a technical certification course (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair).
- Equivalent military training, other related technical training, or successful completion of at least 45 college credit hours may be substituted for technical training.
- A technical certification course may include the completion of the AIB 'Science of Baking' course.
- Ability to master the use of Enterprise software including data input, retrieval, and reporting.
- Demonstrate competency for all on-the-job activities affecting product safety, legality, and/or quality.
- Ability to act as a member of a highly functioning team.
- Physical ability to perform job duties including: routinely stoop and bend while lifting from twenty to eighty pounds; routinely lift 40 and 50 pounds; climb ladders and onto/under machinery; push/pull heavy carts and equipment.
