BIC, a community of brands dedicated to creating ingeniously simple and joyful products, is seeking a Production Mechanic I. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and repair of lighter packaging machinery. You will troubleshoot machine issues, perform repairs, and implement continuous improvements to maximize quality, safety, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Set up, maintain, and repair lighter packaging machinery.
- Troubleshoot machine issues during shift, evaluate situations related to production, and perform repairs to maximize quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Maintain specific departmental equipment and investigate and track machine issues.
- Organize work to facilitate the completion of scheduled T.P.M. and correct outstanding machine issues while maximizing machine efficiencies.
- Implement continuous improvement modifications and changes required to standardize machine setup.
- Attend shift turnover meetings and communicate all necessary information to maximize quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Perform similar or related work as required, directed, or as the situation dictates.
What We're Looking For
- Vocational Technical School graduate or Trade/Military equivalent.
- Five (5) + years of trade experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum score of eighty (80) on Standard Timing Model.
- Ability to work effectively with others: M&O’s, Electricians, Mold Set Up, Management, etc., to solve problems and pursue continuous improvement opportunities.
- Flexibility/Adaptability: Must be able to work effectively in an environment where priorities and assigned tasks change quickly and show a willingness to make decisions.
- Self-Direction /Initiative: Must be able to work effectively with little direct supervision and be willing to make decisions.
Team & Environment
You must work effectively with others, including M&O’s, Electricians, Mold Set Up, and Management.
