nVent is looking for a Production Manager to organize workflow, manage daily production activity to fulfill customer demand, and lead production supervisors and direct labor to achieve customer satisfaction and internal targets. In this role, you will ensure operations comply with quality and safety certifications and drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing tools within our innovative and accountable culture.
What You'll Do
- Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements to support both long-term business objectives and short-term operational goals.
- Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
- Manage daily production activity to fulfill customer demand, including manpower planning, operator training, and performance monitoring.
- Monitor production to resolve issues.
- Lead production supervisors, cell leaders, and direct labor to achieve customer satisfaction and internal targets.
- Develop and maintain work instructions and standardized work.
- Ensure manufacturing operations are in compliance with Quality and Safety related certifications and management systems.
- Utilize proven quality or Lean Manufacturing tools to drive continuous improvement on all aspects in manufacturing measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure output meets quality standards.
- Motivate, support and provide guidance to production staff.
- Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
- Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
- Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
- Set productivity goals for each manufacturing team.
