The Timken Company is hiring a Production Control Clerk to join our Engineered Bearings & Industrial Motion Products division. In this role, you will facilitate the flow of physical material movements and system transactions between and within departments in direct support of production schedules. You'll be a vital part of ensuring our machinery keeps industry in motion efficiently and reliably.
What You'll Do
- Review production and shipment schedules to determine material requirements and priorities, conferring with production supervisors.
- Generate production orders and perform system transactions related to production data, material consumption, and other key elements.
- Compile documents on costs, inventory consumption, and problems encountered during production.
- Examine production documentation to evaluate accuracy and conformance to required materials management processes.
- Compile essential information, such as materials used and inventories, for the accurate completion of status reports.
- Make arrangements for the delivery and distribution of component parts and supplies to meet production schedules.
- Support inventory cycle counting activities to determine the root cause of inventory discrepancies.
- Record, organize, and maintain all documentation pertaining to production and inventory records.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed in support of plant operations.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and similar applications.
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge or experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred).
