GM Defense is hiring a Production Business Manager - 2nd Shift to lead the daily departmental activities for our production facility. You will be responsible for planning, team development, and ensuring operational targets are met, while fostering an inclusive environment aligned with our vision of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and execute training activities for salary team members.
- Collaborate with the department to help the plant meet quality targets.
- Maintain a high level of GMS performance for the department.
- Drive a high-level safety culture.
- Lead productivity projects.
- Manage salary manpower requirements for the department.
- Participate in forecasting and forward planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with alarm and escalation procedures and inspection ticket integrity.
- Oversee quality holds and interface with the shipping yard regularly.
- Champion Department initiatives in Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment.
- Interface with Government on a regular basis.
- Coordinate and manage vehicle inspections and all supporting documentation.
- Prioritize and balance resources between plant departments.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's degree or greater in automotive or manufacturing.
- Minimum of 5 years of assembly or manufacturing experience.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person eligible to obtain required export control authorizations.
- Subject to export control restrictions requiring successful candidate to be either a U.S. Person or eligible for authorization.
Team & Environment
You will be responsible for day-to-day department activities for the entire shift.
Work Mode
This position is onsite at the GM Defense Production Facility.
