Sonoco is seeking a Production Associate to join our team in Waynesville, NC. In this hands-on, onsite role, you will be responsible for packing thermoformed trays in a quick and safe manner, directly supporting our manufacturing operations.
What You'll Do
- Retrieve parts from trim press and place them in specified relationships.
- Inspect stacks of parts for defects, place parts in bags, seal bags, and pack into corrugated boxes.
- Tend machines, including trim press and pack station parts handling equipment.
- Cut and stack sheet when needed; grind sheet and trays as required.
- Build and/or stage all packaging material per Product Specification.
- Fill out labels and flow bills correctly.
- Use pallet jacks to place skids of product in the warehouse.
- Assist the Operator when starting the line.
- Help train new employees when necessary.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures; correctly follow housekeeping policy.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor and work overtime as required.

- Excellent attendance is crucial.

- Ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects.
- Take pride in personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in packing or warehousing is extremely helpful.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to a Shift Supervisor as part of our manufacturing team.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $18.76 per hour.
