OpenAI is hiring a Product Policy Manager to lead the company's approach to cyber usage. You will set policies for acceptable use and work closely with investigative, integrity, safety, and operations teams to detect and address misuse. This role is central to ensuring our powerful AI tools are used safely and responsibly.
What You'll Do
- Provide tailored policy advice to technical teams based on a deep understanding of technical and business goals and a clear assessment of policy considerations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the company, including legal, integrity, ops, safety, and communications.
- Translate policy considerations for technical teams, and technical context for policy stakeholders.
- Provide operationalizable implementation standards and enforcement protocols for partner teams building integrity systems.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data to inform and refine our policy work.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience working on cyber abuse in a policy, investigative, or intelligence role, including work addressing AI's impact on cyber use cases.
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage product managers, engineers, researchers, and executives.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to building new frameworks and processes from the ground up.
- Creative thinking with an eye for leveraging data to inform policy decisions.
- Understanding of how government, enterprise, and other stakeholders view cyber policy issues.
Team & Environment
You will be a member of the Product Policy team, collaborating extensively with legal, integrity, ops, safety, communications, and other cross-functional partners.
