Lead the evolution of a core quantitative data platform by defining product strategy for standardized factor and signal offerings built on proprietary alternative datasets. You'll own the full product lifecycle—from research translation to scalable delivery—serving systematic investors with rigorous, repeatable data products.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain comprehensive product specifications for the factor library, including methodology, coverage rules, historical validation, QA frameworks, and release schedules
- Develop and expand a unified factor taxonomy across categories such as growth, inflection, and revision-based signals, aligned with multiple proprietary data sources
- Partner with quant researchers to evaluate datasets and convert high-signal findings into production-ready, automated pipelines
- Guide the progression of the factor library from initial beta to a mature suite incorporating baseline models, alt-data signals, and attribution frameworks
- Translate research insights into scalable computation systems in collaboration with engineering teams
- Specify infrastructure requirements for reference data, identifiers, automated quality assurance, and monitoring systems
- Ensure product-level accountability for accuracy, stability, and timely delivery of factor data
- Conduct in-depth customer research to inform feed architecture, integration needs, and backtesting workflows
- Shape product roadmaps that serve diverse quant clients—from large multi-managers with custom models to smaller funds using packaged signals
- Support pricing, packaging, and market positioning in coordination with go-to-market teams
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop client-facing materials, case studies, and technical documentation
- Share accountability for revenue and profit-and-loss outcomes for owned products
- Enable sales teams through training, client support, and scalable product education
- Work with engineering on technical design, scalability, and system reliability—owning direction while engineering executes
- Engage quant researchers as internal stakeholders to align research output with market needs
- Coordinate with operations on delivery execution, incident response, and process improvements
- Partner with client success to improve retention, drive expansion, and enhance user satisfaction
Requirements
- 8+ years in product management, preferably building tools or data products for quantitative or systematic investment teams
- Solid grasp of quant workflows: factor development, backtesting, signal validation, and portfolio integration
- Proven track record shipping data-heavy products—such as factor feeds, signal libraries, or analytics platforms
- Ability to interpret academic or research papers and transform findings into actionable product requirements
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across research, engineering, sales, and marketing in fast-moving environments
- Skilled in customer discovery with technical users and synthesizing feedback into product decisions
- Commercial acumen with experience in revenue accountability, pricing, and competitive analysis
Preferred Background
- Experience at a quant hedge fund, systematic asset manager, or alternative data provider
- Familiarity with alternative data types—transaction data, web traffic, app usage, email receipts, B2B spend—and their use in systematic strategies
- Understanding of factor modeling frameworks (e.g., Barra, Axioma) and signal evaluation relative to traditional factors
- Experience building or managing data delivery systems: APIs, flat file feeds, cloud-based platforms
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar tools for data exploration and validation
Technical Environment
Primary tools include Python and SQL for data analysis and pipeline development.
