Lam Research is hiring a Product Engineer 3 to drive product development in the semiconductor equipment industry. In this role, you will be instrumental in solving customer challenges and enhancing Lam's etch and deposition products, collaborating closely with customers and internal teams in a high-stakes, dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Engineer innovative semiconductor equipment and process design solutions to quickly resolve customer issues and improve product quality.
• Support product development from prototyping and development through deployment, product release, and initial field support.
• Design and conduct experiments, tests, and prototypes to resolve complex technical problems.
• Create clear and concise reports to present analysis and support technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to guide product specification and development.
• Provide technical support for installation, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex product issues.
• Maintain a high degree of customer engagement, including face-to-face meetings and international travel to customer sites.
• Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fabrication environment.

What We're Looking For

• A Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional analytical and experimental design skills.
• Clear communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time.

Nice to Have

• Prior product design and technical engineering experience.
• Experience designing, specifying, building, operating, and maintaining semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, or related hardware, tools, and equipment.
• Experience coordinating and communicating with cross-functional teams.
• Creative thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

This role is part of the Global Products Group, specifically the Etch Product Group.

Benefits & Compensation

• CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $86,000.00 - $192,000.00.
