Join our team as the next Privacy Governance Manager.
About the Position
This role supports the Privacy Governance Team, reporting to the Director of Privacy Governance within the Legal organization. You'll provide critical support to the privacy team, helping prioritize regulatory requirements and driving key privacy initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Privacy and AI strategy among People and IT departments
- Serve as senior privacy subject matter expert across enterprise departments
- Lead internal Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA/DPIA) for business units
- Spearhead cross-departmental collaboration and process alignment
- Manage external communication channels with potential automation
- Direct enterprise-wide privacy initiatives including Records of Processing Activities
- Lead compliance efforts for emerging privacy regulations
- Oversee privacy matters in Sales and Marketing
- Develop ongoing Privacy and AI education programs
- Manage privacy team professionals
- Instill privacy-by-design mindset across departments
- Ensure comprehensive compliance documentation
- Collaborate with IT on application privacy risks
- Conduct website privacy compliance audits
- Provide incident management support
- Support privacy-related audits
Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years privacy experience
- High-risk privacy review expertise
- Experience with GDPR, CCPA compliance frameworks
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
- Data Subject Access Rights knowledge
- Leadership of privacy professionals
- AI adoption understanding
- Product privacy expertise
- Independent work capability
- Vendor due diligence program experience
- Opportunity identification skills
Desired:
- IAPP Certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT)
- Additional privacy certifications
Location:
Remote across Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, Canada
Travel:
Occasional travel for project and team meetings
