Twilio is hiring a Privacy Governance Manager to provide integral support to the Privacy team, helping prioritize company objectives and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Director of Privacy Governance within the Legal organization, you will be a key player in making the Twilio privacy team successful.
What You'll Do
- Drive Privacy and AI strategy among People and IT organizations to support initiatives and business objectives.
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert on privacy matters across Enterprise departments.
- Lead internal Privacy Impact Assessments/Data Protection Impact Assessments for relevant internal business units.
- Spearhead collaborative engagement across departments and identify opportunities for process alignment.
- Manage an externally facing mailbox with a view to implementing automation where possible.
- Direct enterprise-wide initiatives such as Records of Processing Activities, PIAs, and privacy by design.
- Lead readiness and compliance efforts for new and emerging privacy laws.
- Oversee all privacy-related matters within Sales and Marketing.
- Develop and deliver ongoing Privacy and AI education and awareness programs.
- Manage privacy professionals within the team.
- Instill a privacy-by-design mindset across Enterprise departments.
- Ensure appropriate documentation to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Collaborate closely with IT on new applications, identifying Privacy and AI risks.
- Oversee website privacy compliance and perform regular audits to identify potential gaps.
- Provide incident management support.
- Support Binding Corporate Rules and other privacy-related audits.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Privacy Experience.
- Experience with high-risk privacy reviews and assessments.
- Experience in leading and supporting cross-functional privacy initiatives such as GDPR, CCPA, or other compliance frameworks.
- Ability to partner with teams across the organization to conduct privacy reviews and encourage collaboration.
- Data Subject Access Rights knowledge and experience.
- Ability to lead high-performing privacy professionals.
- AI knowledge and experience of AI adoption.
- Product Privacy knowledge and experience.
- Ability to engage with various cross-functional business teams independently and manage work streams with limited oversight.
- Experience leading or supporting Vendor due diligence programs.
- Work independently to partner with teams across different parts of the organization and guide the business in implementing good data privacy practices.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop proposals for implementations.
Nice to Have
- IAPP Certifications - CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT.
- Other privacy qualifications and professional certifications.

Work Mode
This is a remote position open to candidates located in Ontario, Canada; British Columbia, Canada; or Alberta, Canada.
