PG&E is hiring a Principal Strategic Analyst within our Strategy and Innovation organization. This role is central to shaping the long-term direction of our electric and gas utility business during a period of significant industry transformation. You will partner with leaders across operations, finance, regulatory affairs, and customer programs to evaluate strategic opportunities, assess risks, and support initiatives that strengthen reliability, affordability, and sustainability.
What You'll Do
- Interact with other departments to collect and communicate strategic findings and guide strategy development across the organization.
- Prepare high-quality materials for presentations to senior PG&E leadership and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial, operating, customer, and market data to identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to PG&E’s strategy development and execution.
- Develop infographics and document insights from data to stimulate meaningful discussion and decision-making by colleagues and company leadership.
- Perform ad hoc analyses in support of cross-functional efforts as a representative of the strategy team.
- Informed by quantitative and qualitative analyses, develop new process designs to address targeted strategic opportunities identified by the team.
- Actively coordinate cross-functionally and with PG&E's program management organizations to support the execution of strategies and impact assessments.
- Guide the strategy development and planning process by facilitating external benchmarking and breakthrough thinking approaches among PG&E experts and leadership.
- Help pressure test business unit strategies and ensure effective coordination across strategic efforts by managing engagement, communications, and facilitating intra-company collaboration.
- Become recognized as a functional and subject matter expert who proactively mentors and trains coworkers on quantitative tools and concepts.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Sociology, Policy, Engineering, Physics, or other related fields, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive job-related experience.

- Demonstrated ability to take a conceptual issue and independently design and complete innovative analysis to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Applicable experience in the utility, oil and gas, renewables, or related industries.
- Exceptional self-starter.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and provide respectful feedback.

Benefits & Compensation
- Eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
- Compensation range: Bay Area Minimum: $140,000.00; Bay Area Midpoint: $189,000.00; Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.00. The reasonably expected range will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the range.
